FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Melt is heated to temperature of overheat above liquidus line and cast into lined and warmed-up steel mould. During volumetric cooling of melt, it is crystallised in power field induced by ultrasound radiators. Crystallisation is initiated in melt central zone, crystallisation front propagating towards melt edges. Hardening over, ingot is heated to complete melting, heating is stopped to perform natural crystallisation of melt with crystallisation front propagating from crystallisation center to melt center. Initiated and natural crystallisation and melting are periodically repeated to reach required homogeneity of ingot ingredients. Phase transition termini nation is recorded by metrological ultrasound system. Control unit comprises temperature and melt phase state pickups and cuts in/out heater and ultrasound radiators.
EFFECT: higher degree of homogenisation.
