FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and represents a method of cleaning aluminum and its alloys from intermetallides and other non-metallic inclusions. Melt of aluminum or its alloy is overheated to temperature of 750–800 °C, is poured into prespinned casting mold of crystalliser and heat is extracted from external wall of casting mold for movement of intermetallides and nonmetallic inclusions by pressure of flat crystallization front towards axis of rotation of casting mold. After cast cooling the size of central part occupied by displaced intermetallides and non-metallic inclusions is determined, and this central part is removed.
EFFECT: method provides higher degree of purification of aluminum and its alloys.
