FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of checking vehicle braking system involves introduction of standard overloading values for n initial conditions for occurrence of overloading. The current value and direction of overloading are determined and displayed. Initial conditions for occurrence of overloading at the beginning of braking are determined by comparing current values of velocity and weight of the vehicle, current pressure force on the brake pedal with given values. The standard overloading value for given initial conditions is selected. Intactness of the braking system is determined based on the obtained data. Standard overloading values are also determined taking into account n values of the temperature of brake shoes. Temperature of the brake shoes at the beginning of braking is determined. The current overloading value is determined. Initial braking conditions are determined taking into account an additional parametre - temperature of brake shoes. The current and standard overloading values obtained taking into account the additional braking parametre - temperature of brake shoes, are compared. Indication is made if the current overloading exceeds the standard value.
