FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves putting a material sample into the measuring volume of a vacuum system with pumping apparatus, evacuating the measuring volume to a given expansion pressure, measuring rate of increase of pressure in the measuring volume and analysing residual gas in the said measuring volume. After attaining the given expansion pressure before measuring rate of increase of pressure, the measuring volume is sealed from the pumping apparatus and before each next measurement, pressure is reduced in proportion to the fall of the rate of increase of pressure in the previous measurement.

EFFECT: wider dynamic range and more accurate measurement of the rate of gas-release at the final phase of degassing material.
