FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in consecutive detection of vehicle in two preset spaced apart points of assumed trajectory with the help of two or more detection pickups mounted at said detection points. It comprises also measuring the time of vehicle movement between said detection points, computation of its speed and its identification by means of, at least, one identification unit mounted on said vehicle. Note here that vehicle identification at preset points of assumed trajectory is performed by remote means from live response radio signals from identification units, while, during detection, pairs of response radio signals from each of identification units are indentified. Note said vehicle detection at preset points of assumed trajectory is performed simultaneously with its identification. For this, radio signals are generated to interrogate identification units in compliance with preset schedule irrespective of vehicle presence between detection points.
EFFECT: higher reliability of vehicle speed measurement and vehicle identification.
