SUBSTANCE: invention provides installation of a transponder and a driver registration unit on a vehicle and embedding non-volatile memory into the driver's license with data on the holder, reading data from the non-volatile memory using the driver registration unit and recording said data into the transponder memory, generation of a transponder radio signal, receiving the transponder radio signal using a query centre, decoding the response radio signal after reception in order to extract data on the driver. A biometric identification unit can also be installed in the vehicle. Data are recorded into the transponder memory before and during movement of the vehicle. The transponder emits a probe radio signal using the query centre, after which a transponder response radio signal is generated. It is established that, before the next input of data into transponder memory by the driver of a given vehicle, the holder of the driver's license whose data are read from the driver's license memory is recognised. Query centres are mounted on a mobile base and/or fixed at defined points of the route of the vehicle.
EFFECT: group of inventions, which provides automatic reliable identification of vehicle drivers, increases safety of movement.
