FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for repair, recovery of worn-out part geometry and increase in surface layer quality and its wear resistance. Proposed method comprises heating the part, applying coat by electric erosion on part heated area and cooling the part down. Note here that part is heated in coat application zone to temperature above point A3, but not lower than solidus temperature as per "iron-carbon" state graph for part material. Part is cooled down with temperature gradient for time accepted for high tempering conditions for part material to temperature not exceeding that of part material tempering.
EFFECT: high-quality layers with no restraints on coat total thickness.
