FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at creation of highly hard ceramic material, which can be used for manufacturing elements for apparatuses operating in conditions of hit impact and intensive abrasive wearing. Technical result is reached due to creation of multi-phase ceramic material from boron carbide and one or several of the following compounds: SiC, borides of elements of IVb, Vb, VIb groups of Periodic system, which do not interact with each other, and whose grains are evenly distributed among them. In composition of said material there are not less than 5 vol.% of nanoscale particles. Material is obtained by separate crashing of powders in non-water medium by milling bodies from material, whose hardness is lower than hardness of milled powders until dispersity, at which content of particles of size which does not exceed 1.5 mcm constitutes not less than 90 vol. %, is reached, with further mixing of powders, formation of workpieces and sintering. Formation is carried out by cold isostatic pressing, sintering is carried out without pressure application at temperature close to temperature of melt appearing.
EFFECT: increase of crack resistance, wear-resistance, obtaining high density and ensuring possibility to obtain products of complex form without application of hot pressing.
