FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to procedure for processing thermally unstable materials with cold plasma jet and can be implemented at hydrophilisation/hydrophobisation and at upgrading adhesion properties of polymer, textile, paper and other materials. The procedure consists in generating plasma jet by transmitting gas flow through the zone of electric discharge. Atmospheric air is used as plasma generating gas. Plasma is produced in stationary glow discharge of atmospheric pressure created by means of system of electrodes in gas flow in between-electrodes gaps. Produced cold plasma jet is transmitted beyond the zone of discharge on treated surface. For plasma generation there is used a system of sectioned cathode and anode, wherein sections of the anode are made as thin plates, while sections of the cathode are made in form of rods or thin needles directed perpendicular to gas flow and located in a plane contacting downstream border of the anode sections, and between-electrode gaps are located directly at gas flow output from a gas discharge chamber.
EFFECT: simplification of process of material processing and reduced cost due to usage of unbalanced plasma jet generated with gas discharge directly in air flow.
