FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for measuring density and porosity of rock using neutron radiation. Invention consists in the fact that downhole device with double-sided location measuring probes has a neutron source arranged coaxially with the housing of the downhole device, as well as two neutron and two gamma-probe, which are located on both sides of neutron source, neutron generator is used as a neutron source, each neutron probe comprises at least two detectors, which are located between the housing of the downhole device and the neutron generator in parallel to axis of downhole device, equally spaced from the axis of the downhole device and equally spaced from the target neutron generator, uniformly along angle around the axis of downhole device, wherein detectors in different neutron probes are turned around the axis of downhole device relative to each other.
EFFECT: technical result is reducing the length of neutron measuring probes when a neutron generator is used as neutron source which results in reduced measurement time.
