FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of one or more pumping sources and an enclosed volume. In the enclosed volume there is one or more sections of amplifying optical fibre, the input and output of which come out the said volume. The enclosed volume has one or more windows for inlet and outlet of sections of the amplifying optical fibre, has one or more windows for entry of pumping radiation and provides conditions for total internal reflection of optical radiation from the pumping source, so that the pumping radiation repeatedly passes through the enclosed volume while crossing the amplifying optical fibre. The enclosed volume is torus-shaped.
EFFECT: simple procedure of manufacturing an optical signal amplification device, cutting on manufacturing time and lower cost, and fewer requirements for beam quality of optical pumping sources.
