SUBSTANCE: solid state power laser diode pumped contains an active element in the shape of hexagon with two parallel end faces which serve for the input and output of the pump radiation and the signal made in form of thin rectangles arranged so that the optical amplifier axis passes through the end face centers and perpendicular to it, with the other two opposite to each other large lateral faces in the form of equal rectangles which serve to dissipate heat from the active element and the corresponding cooling system. It also contains an optical system for forming a pumping beam and placing it in an active element, an optical system for forming amplified laser radiation and placing it in an active element, as well as an optical system for outputting amplified laser radiation from the amplifier. The width of the end faces of the solid-state active element is different. The optical system for arranging the pump radiation is located on the side of the wider end face in such a way that conditions are created for the waveguide propagation of the pump radiation, and the optical system for arranging the amplified radiation is located on the side of the less wide end face in such a way that conditions are created for the free propagation of the amplified laser radiation. The large side faces of the active element are covered with a material reflecting the pump radiation and providing its waveguide propagation.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of the device at high average and peak power; providing a large gain, with a decrease in the probability of optical breakdown in the thickness of the active element and at its ends.
