FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: electric and magnetic field sensors are mounted at the end of a 1.5-2.0 m long bar under the current-carrying wire of the overhead system of an electric railway line. Signals from the electric and magnetic field sensors are transmitted to the input of a double-channel digital oscilloscope connected to a laptop through which synchronous double-channel recording of the signal waveform and spectral analysis of the electric and magnetic components of the electromagnetic field is carried out. Coefficients of nonlinear distortion of voltage and current in the overhead system of the electric railway line are determined using Microsoft Excel.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced electric safety requirements.
