FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: offered invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and it aims at the correction of radial capsulorhexis breakages during cataract phacoemulsification. The creation of a radial breakage of the anterior capsule requires the use of a device consisting of a handle and a semi-ring working part of arc length 190 to 230 degrees, with tooth cross-section turned downwards with rigid and pointed base. The working part of the device arranged to the right or to the left from the handle axis depending on the breakage localisation is inserted through a paracentesis along a circular arc and turned around; the device is fixed with its pointed base to the anterior capsule of crystalline lens in the equatorial direction from a breakage end. Further, a capsular forceps is inserted through a primary corneal tunnel; a lateral edge of the anterior capsule is gripped in forceps within a breakage area, as close to its end as possible; the breakage is delivered to the base of the working part, rounded to continue the capsulorhexis on a new circle with bending a capsule through the top of the working part and breaking it off along the pointed rigid base of the working part.
EFFECT: method enables higher reliability and safety of the correction of radial breakages.
