FIELD: electroplating.

SUBSTANCE: used for chrome plating of long rotating bodies, for example rolls of rolling mills. The installation contains a flow bath with anodes placed in it, electrolyte supply and removal systems, a roll rotation mechanism, roll supports, a current source and current leads, while it is equipped with two process tanks for storing electrolyte, each of which is connected to the flow bath and has a system maintaining specified electrolyte temperatures, and the current leads are designed to be connected to the roll necks on both sides with the ability to ensure contact of at least 35% of the circumference of each roll neck.

EFFECT: creation of an installation for chrome plating of long products (forming rolls), which improves the quality of the roll by applying a more uniform coating and the ability to obtain on the surface being processed the required value of microrelief (roughness) of the surface of the roll coating, formed by hemispheres (globules) located close to each other and, as a consequence, increasing the service life (running time) of the roll.
