FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: object of invention is realised by cutting time spent by each independently working radar station on scanning "empty" angular directions. In the radar scanning method, which is based on interaction of spatially spaced apart radar stations, radar stations working in the monitored space exchange information on scanning results and based on the obtained information by establishing different priorities for scanning areas in space in the zone of responsibility of the radar station, power consumption on scanning angular directions in which a target may be located is increased by reducing scanning of angular directions in which there is no target. The information contains coordinates of scanned areas with indication of presence or absence of a target, coordinates of the detected target or its identification data; if necessary the i-th angular direction is scanned with omissions if in accordance with the information, including for other radar stations, there is no target in this direction or energy is spent on scanning the i-th angular direction within the limits of established balanced until a target whose coordinates are obtained from other radar stations is detected. The disclosed technical result is achieved due to that in the radar scanning method, which is based on interaction of spatially spaced apart radar stations, a database which is accessible for several other radar stations is transmitted and information on scanned areas in space is obtained from the said database and taking into account the obtained information by establishing different priorities for scanning areas in space in the zone of responsibility of the radar station, power consumption on scanning angular directions in which a target may be located is increased by reducing scanning of angular directions in which there is no target. Information on coordinates of scanned areas is sent and obtained from the database with indication of presence or absence of targets, coordinates of the detected target or target identification data; if necessary the i-th angular direction is omitted (not scanned) if in accordance with the database information there is not target in this direction, and analysis is switched to the j-th angular direction etc or energy is spent scanning the i-th angular direction within the limits of the established balance until a target whose coordinates are obtained from the database is detected.
EFFECT: solving the problem of insufficient scanning time with a needle-like beam, possibility of scanning radar scanning space with a needle-like beam at a scanning rate for which the number of probing signals is less than the number of allowable angular directions.
