FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: suggested technical solutions are related to the field of radiolocation and may be used in surveillance radiolocating stations (RLS) with needle beam. In method of radar surveillance of space zone based on radiation of i part of zone by wide beam that envelops ni>1 of angular directions and reception of signals by partial channels with needle diagrams of antenna directivity, then wide beam radiates (i+1) part of zone comprising ni+1>1 angular directions, if in i part of zone signal exceeding threshold level is not received, and if p≥1 from ni; angular directions of signal exceeding threshold level is detected, only these p directions are surveyed, serially radiating each of them with beam width reduced ni times; in method of radar surveillance of space zone based on radiation of i part of zone and reception of signals by wide beam, which envelopes ni>1 angular directions, wide beam is used to radiate and receive signals in (i+1) part of zone, comprising ni+1>1 angular directions, if in i part of zone signal exceeding threshold level was not received, and when signal exceeding threshold level is detected, RLS beam width is reduced, and sequential surveillance of angular directions of i part of zone is carried out; in process of surveillance of i part of zone wide beam is used to radiate m≥1 probing signals, and in process of sequential surveillance of ni directions, simultaneously 1≤k<ni directions are radiated with beam width reduced ni/k times; if target was not detected in process of surveillance of i part of zone with reduced beam width, they change over to radiation and reception of signals by wide beam for (i+1) part of zone; in process of simultaneous radiation of 1<k<ni directions and detection of signal exceeding threshold level, in j>1> out of ni/k directions, these j directions are surveyed, with beam width reduced n/s times, simultaneously radiating 1≤s<j directions, etc, reaching the point when only one angular direction is radiated with beam width reduced ni times; value of threshold level is established on the basis of calculation of permissible probability of erroneous change over to surveillance of these angular directions with beam width reduced ni/k times, and number m/ni - permissible probability of erroneous transition to surveillance of the subsequent angular directions by wide beam; in surveillance by wide beam narrow-band signal is used.
EFFECT: provision of possibility to survey zone of RLS space with needle beam at the rate of surveillance, when number of probing signals is less than number of angular directions.
