METHOD OF PRODUCING MULTILAYER COATS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC B05D7/14

Abstract RU 2403094 C2

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing of automotive multilayer coats. Proposed method comprises the following stages: 1) applying 8-20 mcm-thick coat layer of water composition A on substrate coated by EDC-primer, 2) applying main coat layer from water composition B to apply the coat with film thickness below film black/white opaqueness from 5 to 10 mcm on layer of coat made there before, 3) applying transparent coat layer on the main coat layer, 4) curing layers of said three coats. Compositions A and B differ. Note here that composition A features weight ratio between pigment and resin components varies from 0.2 to 0.5:1. Fraction of pigment varies from 0 to 100 wt % of at least one aluminium laminar pigment that features lamina thickness varying from 200 to 500 nm, from 0 to 90 wt % of at least one interference laminar pigment C, at least one carbon black component and from 0 to 60 wt % of at least one pigment other than aluminium and interference laminar pigments c and carbon black pigments. Laminar pigment C is selected from the group consisting of laminar pigments of aluminium oxide with metal-oxide coat, laminar pigments of silicon dioxide with metal-oxide coat, from 0 to 15 wt %. Total percent by weight makes 100 wt %. Note here that at least 40 wt % of pigments represent one aluminium laminar pigment and/or at least one interference laminar pigment C and a fraction of, at least, 20 wt % of aluminium laminar pigment have mean particle size of 6 to 15 mcm.

EFFECT: possibility to produce multilayer coats with low total thickness.
