FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of preventing collision of vehicles. Directing electromagnetic radiation of the near infrared range from a source of electromagnetic radiation of the near infrared range to an object at least partially coated with a reflecting in the near infrared range, which increases detection distance for object detected by means of electromagnetic radiation of near infrared range by at least 15 %, when measured at the wavelength of the near infrared range, compared to the same object with a matched color coating which absorbs more than the same near infrared radiation, and detection of reflected near-infrared radiation reflected from said coating reflecting in near infrared range. Coated color coating has a color difference ΔE equal to 1.5 or less compared to a reflecting coating in the near infrared range.

EFFECT: increase in the detection distance to the surface of the object illuminated by near-infrared electromagnetic radiation.
