SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used for pest control of stock of peas and their seeds - pea beetle. The method consists in the fact that destruction of pea beetle is carried out with cyclic thermo-vacuum treatment, usually in the initial period of pea seeds storage. The method includes storing seeds with seasoning the desired process temperature and humidity conditions in the mass of seeds, seed infection control during storage process, in case of infection - cleaning, cyclic thermo-vacuum treatment of infected seed batches, cooling the seeds. Thermo-vacuum processing of seeds contaminated with pests is conducted in a microwave field in the vacuum microwave chamber at reduced pressure in radiotransparent rotating drum, in a cyclic mode. Each cycle includes a phase of volumetrical microwave heating of the seeds bulk at pressure 0.015-0.02 MPa to a temperature of 55-60°C and a seasoning phase of seeds bulk without heating at a pressure not higher than 0.006-0.008 MPa for 1-2 min.

EFFECT: method enables to destroy pests efficiently while preserving the seeds germination, the method can be used for destruction of pea beetle at the age of pupa, as well as after reaching a pest of mature age during the whole period of seed storage.
