SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of furniture, in particular to upholstered furniture. Sofa bed or a chair-bed contains a supporting structure, a back-rest, a seat, the mechanism of transformation, at least one lift mechanism of the back-rest, located, from at least one side of the sofa bed or the chair-bed, containing a bearing element intended to support back, at least one lever which one end is pivotally connected with the supporting structure and the second end is pivotally connected with the sofa back-rest. The back-rest lift mechanism contains at least one additional lever which first end is pivotally connected to the first end of the rod, and the other end of the rod is pivotally connected with the back-rest, and the second end of the additional lever is rigidly connected to the draw-rod of the transformation mechanism.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of lifting and lowering the back-rest of the sofa bed or a chair-bed while it is converted and folded without a direct application of the person's manual force to this back-rest, as well as reducing the number of manipulations carried out at converting and folding of the sofa bed or the chair-bed.
