SUBSTANCE: method for coating formation includes stage of metal powder oxidation until oxygen content in it makes from 6 wt % to 14 wt % and stage of coating formation by means of changing powder into melted condition or half-melted condition as pulse discharge is generated between powder-containing electrode and part. Coating formation is carried out to obtain oxygen content in the whole coating within the range from 5 wt % to 9 wt % and with distribution of areas on single surface pf coating with oxygen content of 3 wt % and below and with oxygen content of 8 wt % or more. At the same time single surface of coating is area of single discharge crater.
EFFECT: improved wear resistance of coatings.
