SUBSTANCE: methods are described, which are intended to obtain time identifiers (ID) used to address specific user equipment (UE) in wireless communication network. In network element the first ID assigned by UE and additional information, such as, salt-value and selectively jointly used secret data for UE are converted to produce the second ID for UE. The first ID and/or jointly used secret data may be updated, for instance each time when alarm message is sent to UE. Alarm message sent to UE is generated on the basis of the second UE and is sent through common channel. In UE the message is received via common channel. The first ID and additional information, such as, salt-value produced from received message and selectively jointly used secret data for UE are converted to produce the second ID, which is used to detect whether received message is intended for UE.
