FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves loading anode mass, moving studs, formation of a secondary anode by loading a measured amount of under-stud mass into a hole when moving studs, cutting and sealing the periphery of the anode and maintaining given values of current density and level of electrolyte. While increasing current density, the level of electrolyte is lowered in accordance with the formula: Δhel.= k ΔiA, where Δhel is change in the maintained level of electrolyte, cm, ΔiA is change in maintained current density in the anode, A/cm2, k is an empirical coefficient equal to 100.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the electrolysis cell.
