FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: device for reduction of nitrogen oxides includes at least one NOx catalyst-accumulator for intermediate accumulation of nitrogen oxides, which is built in exhaust gas pipeline of internal combustion engine in which nitrogen oxides are accumulated in "poor" working phase of operation, and those accumulated nitrogen oxides are reduced in "rich" working phase of operation. Provision at least of one molecular sieve which arrests sulphur dioxide at least at one NOx catalyst-accumulator is made between exhaust gas and at least one NOx catalyst-accumulator and/or in front of at least one NOx catalyst-accumulator. NOx catalyst-accumulator is obtained by means of extrusion or by applying coatings especially to ceramic or metal carrier, and layer of molecular sieve, at least in one further treatment phase, is applied to that catalyst.

EFFECT: avoiding deactivation of catalysts in consequence of formation of sulphates, as a result of preventing the contact of SO2 and SO3 with active centres and accumulating components of NOx catalyst-accumulator.
