SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of a cellular element with exhaust gas flow passages. The essence of the invention: the method of the cellular element 1 production with a coating 2 consists in the preparation of at least one partially corrugated metal layer 3. The first cycle of application of the coating 2 on at least one of a number of at least one metal layer 3 is executed so that its separate sections 4 are left exposed. At least one metal layer 3 is arranged to form therefrom a cellular structure 6 with channels 7 to get points 5 of contact of the exposed separate sections 4 of at least one metal layer 3. Permanent joint points 8 are formed on at least a part of the contact points 5 to make the said cellular element 1 and to execute the second cycle of the coating application on the cellular element 1.
EFFECT: higher catalytic activity of the cellular element.
