FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: two groups of daphnia are held in test and control water samples at the same time and each of the daphnia is put into a measurement device which is a flat glass vessel having a mark at the bottom and filled with neutral aqueous medium. The number of intersections of the lines of the mark by daphnia held in the test water sample is then compared with the similar number of intersections of daphnia held in the tap water.
EFFECT: method and device enable rapid and highly sensitive biotesting of water samples in laboratory and field conditions.
