FIELD: biotechnology, in particular method for quality controlling of natural and wastewater.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repeated short-time water biotesting with introduced pollutant during spring-summer and autumn-winter seasons. Said testing is carried out on Daphnia magna Straus simultaneously for settled main water and natural water sampled from the same point of pond. The presence of acute water toxicity is detected after each experiment on the base of action thereof on survival value of testing object for 96 h without feeding. Tested media are recognized as non-toxic one if daphnia survival value is differ from control one by not more than 50 % during whole investigation time.

EFFECT: more accurate method for evaluation of acute toxicity of various pollutants presenting in water.
