SUBSTANCE: method involves sending time-frequency modulated pulses into the line, reception of reflected time-frequency modulated pulses, determination of the position of the point of fault of the line from the time lag between the radiated and received pulses, correction of the time lag. Pulses with an opposite time-frequency modulation law are also radiated. Time lag is corrected by calculating the arithmetic average of the measurement results for pulses with opposite modulation laws.
EFFECT: more accurate measurement of distance to the point of fault.
