FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engineering ecology and may be used to explore rivers and their tributaries. The invention concept is as follows: the main riverbed is separated and measured along river flow from river head to the first tributary of the first order. Then distance is measured along the main riverbed to the area of this tributary inflow. Then area of main riverbed drainage basing is also measured. After measurements, rated hydrological parameters of the main riverbed are calculated. Then distance is measured from head to the second tributary of the first order. Additionally, area of the main riverbed catchment's area is measured from head to the second tributary of the first order. Then rated parameters are again calculated. Afterwards cycle of measurements and calculations is repeated in all tributaries of the first order arranged along the main riverbed to mouth. Besides, values of river parameters are entered into table of measurements and calculations results twice - before and after areas of inflow of all tributaries of the first order, starting from the river head. Produced table data is also modelled twice by effect of distance from head to mouth of river and other parameters at growing values of other more complicated parameters of river.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of these measurement results correlation to behaviour of the main riverbed during spring flood.
