FIELD: physics; geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysical prospecting for hydrocarbons. Openings are made in a selected position on the surface of ice. The openings pass through the sea ice to the water. Electrodes of the source and receivers are let into the openings until the electrode is in contact with the water under the sea ice. A sufficient amount of conducting liquid is put into the openings so that at least part of the electrode is covered. The conducting liquid is left in the openings until frozen.
EFFECT: improved connection between electrodes and the surface of the ice and, as a result, high quality of the transmitted and received data.
