FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of micro plasma welding of incombustible materials and may be used in jewel processing, prosthetic dentistry, and household activities. Proposed method comprises firing the arc in starting conditions to produce plasma jet by contracting the arc by plasma-forming vapors of working fluid evaporated by heat released at electrodes by electrically contracted arc in plasma torch. Mix of water and alcohol, a solvent, with addition of liquid ammonia, is sued as working fluid. Additionally, arc and plasma jet are contracted by shaped variable-section channel of nozzle-anode made up of confuser, diaphragm and diffuser. Welding is made by contracted arc of indirect effect. Ultrasound vibrations are excited in plasma jet to adjust current in arc by means of programmable controller that sets up arc current variation rate proceeding from stable arcing condition.
EFFECT: stable arcing, longer life of electrodes and reduced weight of nozzle-anode.
