FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: conveyor is furnished with belt catchers. Each catcher is made up of steel wire ropes 2, 3 arranged, in initial position, to embrace belt load-carrying run 1 from outside. Ends of each tope are fastened to common coupling 7. Said coupling is jointed from below to crosspiece 8 of double "П"-like post 9. Said post has horizontal round beams 10, 11 arranged at post top part on both sides of conveyor and furnished with curved supports 12, 13 cambered outward from conveyor central axis 14 and to interact with ropes. Note here that clearance between ropes in catcher initial position is taken at least 0.2-0.3 m, while central angle that governs curved support arc length is taken to exceed the cable embrace angle. Width of curved supports is taken to allow accommodating both ropes deflected from vertical in catching broken belt.

EFFECT: reliable catching of conveyor belt.
