FIELD: textile, paper.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in provision of full-colour image of sample in standard palette of red K, green O and blue B colours. Based on statistical distribution of intensity of colour components of sample image, values of criteria are set to detect pixels suitable for detection of foreign objects. Information is accumulated on each foreign object and its surroundings, and skin of seed is identified with fibre with the help of established limit value of share of pixels in surroundings of a foreign object, level of yellowness of which exceeds set empirical value.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase accuracy of separation and identification of foreign objects on surface of fibrous material.
