FIELD: color image rendering.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a system for rendering color images on an electro-optical display, when the electro-optic display has a color gamut with a limited palette of primary colors and / or color coverage is poorly structured. System uses an iterative process to identify the best color for a given pixel from a palette, changed for diffusion of color error throughout the electro-optical display. System additionally takes into account color changes caused by crosstalk between neighboring pixels.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of image quality.
