FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises riling of billets by rack-type tool with starting cutting contour (ICC) and comprising lines of heads and feet located on both sides of division straight line, and section of connected straight lines circular arcs. Wheel billets are rolled in two positions of ICC and/or billet. Wheel billet rolling in first position forms lateral shape of teeth one side, required thickness of teeth and optimum parametres of gear result from adjustment of rolling second position by tangential or angular displacement of ICC or billet. Rolling in second position forms lateral surface of opposite sides of the teeth.
EFFECT: expanded machining performances to due ruling out of undercut, sharpening and interference effects, and intolerable tooth thickness reduction.
