FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface hardening by surface plastic deformation. Surface plastic deformation of revolving part is carried out by roller at constant force, roller being fed along part axis. Roller oscillates driven by step drive relative to the plane perpendicular to machined part axis and reciprocates parallel to its main motion. Liquid lubricating-plating composition is continuously fed into surface hardening zone. Said composition contains components in the following ratio, in wt % by wt: ground graphite - 2.5…3.0; crystalline iodine - 0.05…0.08; mineral oil makes the rest.
EFFECT: surface with low friction factor in wide temperature range.
