METHOD OF VOLTAMMETRE DETECTION OF TIN IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G01N27/48

Abstract RU 2412433 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: electrochemical deposition of reducing tin from analysed solution dissolved in background electrolyte on working surface of solid working electrode from inert material at negative potential of working electrode comprises electrochemical dissolution of aforesaid products of reduction by varying working electrode potential, measuring anode current of dissolution, indentifying maximum on voltammetre graph and determining tin concentration in analysed solution by maximum magnitude. For this: background electrolyte represents hydrochloric acid with concentration of, at least, 1 mol/dm3 with addition of mercury ions in concentration of not over 4·10-4 mol/dm3 and gallium ions in concentration of, at least, 1·10-6 mol/dm3. Electrochemical deposition of tin is carried out at constant potential of solid working electrode set to -1300 mV to - 1000 mV relative to silver chloride comparison electrode. Tin maximum is defined on registered voltammetre graph in the range of potentials varying from - 700 mV to - 600 mV.

EFFECT: ruling out influence of copper analytical signal on tin analytical signal, reduced sampling time, higher accuracy.
