FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: damper consists of hollow housing 2 filled with gaseous medium, which is fixed on wire (cable) 1 by means of clamp 3, and damping assembly made in the form of inertia element (load 9, housing 16) fixed on diaphragm 10 which divides the housing into upper and lower halves; diaphragm 10 and load 9 is positioned with compression and tension springs 12. In load 9 or diaphragm 10 there is through orifice hole 13. Ratio of D diametre of diaphragm 10 to maximum movement amplitude Δx of load 9 relative to housing 2 under action of lateral vibrations of wire (cable) 1 is chosen with the following limits: D/Δx= 1.0÷100 when providing minimum volume Vgaseous medium of gaseous medium filling the cavity of housing 2. Another version is also possible when housing 16 serves as inertia element; in this case, inside housing 16 on diaphragm 17 with orifice holes 18 there fixed is stock 19 by means of which the damper is attached to wire (cable) 22 by means of clamp 21.

EFFECT: considerable absorption of vibrations appearing at frequencies of mechanical resonance of wires of overhead transmission lines and communication lines, simple design and reliability during continuous operation; damper has passed bench tests with positive results and will be used in batch production.
