DEVICE FOR PRODUCTION OF GRAPHITE THERMALLY-EXPANDING COMPOUNDS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC C01B31/04

Abstract RU 2412900 C2

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of materials from thermally-expanded graphite and may be used in heat engineering, nuclear and chemical industries, etc. Graphite suspension in acid is fed via taper distributor 11 in reaction zone formed by section anode 5 and section cathode 3. Current is fed there via varistors that allow adjusting current load over reaction zone sections. Diaphragm 4 is cleaned of graphite particles by scrapers 6 fixed on sections of anode 5. Graphite overoxidation is performed in the last anode section. Branch pipe 12 is used to feed acid into reaction zone. Formed thermally-expanded graphite compounds are collected at reactor outlet in collector bin.

EFFECT: overoxidised graphite with reduced temperature of thermal expansion, higher efficiency of equipment.
