FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, and can be used for surgical management of the patients with cataract and open-angle glaucoma with normalised intraocular pressure. Local and general risk factors of postoperative intraocular pressure increase are scored, including: degree of manifestation of pseudoexfoliative syndrome, pupillary response to light, stage of glaucoma, amount of antihypertensive drugs applied for intraocular pressure normalisation, age of the patient, density of a nucleus of lens, cardiovascular status. An average score is calculated. If the average score of the risk factors does not exceed 2 points, cataract phacoemulsification surgery only is considered to be indicated; the average score of the factors 2 to 3 points requires a one-stage cataract phacoemulsification and nonpenetrating sclerectomy surgery indicated, while the average score of the risk factors more than 3 points enables to indicate nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy followed by cataract phacoemulsification 4 weeks later.
EFFECT: method allows to avoid postoperative complications.
