FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the intraocular pressure (IOP) level for patients with cataract at the background of pseudoexfoliative syndrome (PEX). Patient's sex, presence of peripheral vascular diseases, diabetes, initial IOP and the eye anteroposterior axis values are determined. Postoperative IOP is calculated by the proposed formula. If the calculated IOP value does not exceed the physiological norm, the prognosis is favourable.

EFFECT: method allows accurate, reliable and available IOP level prediction in the first 5 days after phacoemulsification for patients with cataract at PEX background due to assessment of the most significant indicators.
