FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: transscleral micropulse cyclophotocoagulation (mCPK) is performed using a diode laser probe with a wavelength of 810 nm, and cataract phacoemulsification (FEC) with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. When a patient uses more than two antihypertensive drugs and intraocular pressure (IOP) is above 26 mm Hg, first, mCPK is performed at a total laser energy density of 121.84 J/cm2, at a distance of 3 mm from the limbus, by sliding the probe along the arc in each of the 4 quadrants of the eyeball 5 times for 10 s at the same speed. Then, when the IOP value is below 22 mm Hg not earlier than 2 weeks later, PE with IOL implantation is performed.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the risk of side intra- and postoperative complications, as well as to improve visual function.
