FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention represents recombinant thermostable alcoholdehydrogenase TsAdh319 from archaea Thermococcus sibiricus, demonstrating activity in reactions of oxidation of alcohols and sugars to respective aldehydes and ketones and in reverse reactions of reduction of aldehydes and ketones at temperatures to 100°C. Alcoholdehydrogenase sequence consists of 234 amino acids and is represented in SEQ ID NO:2. Invention also relates to DNA, coding thermostable alcoholdehydrogenase, including nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO:1.
EFFECT: thermostable alcoholdehydrogenase TsAdh319 can be used in biotechnical industry for organic synthesis of biologically active substances.
