FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: sample of the analysed substance is exposed to ultra-short laser pulses. Radiation passing through the analysed substance and forming a bimodal time distribution is picked up, after which the following optical characteristics are determined: extinction coefficient; absorption coefficient; reduced scattering coefficient; scattering coefficient; anisotropy factor.
EFFECT: high accuracy and information content of measuring and determining optical characteristics of scattering media.
