FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: when conducting full-scale tests on radiation survey equipment, a uniform field of ionising radiation intensity with dynamically variable parametres is created based on point sources of gamma radiation using attenuating filters with a special configuration for increasing uniformity of the field. As a result of the tests, it can be established that the spread of values of gamma-radiation intensity from the source of ionising radiation with activity of 480 Ci between 1 and 8 gamma-radiation sources, without using attenuating filters, ranges from 1.65 to 6.4 rad/h (approximately 70%), and, when using attenuating filters, the spread of values drops to between 1.65 and 2.0 rad/h (18%) and 12% between 2 and 7 gamma-radiation sources. The calculated data were confirmed by experimental investigations and the spread of values did not exceed 15%.
