SUBSTANCE: panoramic image of the nature of radioactive contamination of an area is obtained on-board aircraft by obtaining the projection of the spatial-brightness structure of the region of the atmospheric boundary layer which fluoresces under the effect of ionising radiation and superimposing it on the underlying surface, wherein UV radiation is detected with a vertical scanning route using the relationship between density of fluorescence radiance and flight altitude, the level of radioactive radiation and the viewing angle of the UV radiation detector mounted on the aircraft.

EFFECT: high accuracy of assessing the radiation environment.
