SUBSTANCE: image input data are converted to a brightness component to obtain a difference between the brightness component and the threshold value. The reading deviation is determined based on the obtained difference and a counter is used to monitor and measure the threshold value. The threshold value obtained by monitoring and measurement is used to perform a series of operations for removing the background colour in each pixel by performing a series of signal conversion operations.
EFFECT: removal of background colour independent of the type of the read document by determining the reading deviation which affects estimation of the background level for each pixel based on brightness of the target pixel of the data image.
