FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video processing means. Input video stream containing images in first dynamic range, including first image is received. A second image representing a first image of the input video stream is received, wherein the second image has a second dynamic range, wherein the second dynamic range is higher than the first dynamic range. Statistical data are obtained for the first and second images, wherein the obtained statistical data include statistical characteristics of brightness and chromaticity for the first and second images, and statistical data are stored in the buffer. Method includes determining during first time delay scene splitting data based on statistical data in a first sliding window comprising a first image, one or more following images located after the first image in time in the input video stream, and one or more previous images before the first image in time in the input video stream. During the second time delay, the first display function is determined to display the brightness values for the first image from the first dynamic range to the second dynamic range.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of video processing.
