FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing an adsorbent based on aluminium silicate. A support in form of expanded layered aluminium silicate with particle size 0.25-8.0 mm is saturated with a modifying solution which contains calcium chloride with concentration 10-40% and lignosulphonate with concentration 5-10% with liquid to solid ratio equal to 1:0.5-1.5, followed by thermal treatment of the saturated aluminium silicate at temperature 400-650°C. The layered aluminium silicate used is vermiculite, phlogopite, muscovite or biotite. The modifying solution can also contain copper (II) chloride or nickel chloride or mixture thereof in amount of 5-10% of the mass of calcium chloride.
EFFECT: obtaining adsorbent with total pore volume of 1,6-2,0 cm3/g and dynamic moisture-retention capacity of 0,89-0,97 g/g with specific surface area of 510-610 m2/g, which, for dried gas-air mixtures, ensures moisture content of 0,5-1% and foul-smelling aqueous solution absorption capacity of 4,0-5,9 g/g.
